Bach’s Goldberg Variations – Live Global Simulcast<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Few composers have healed hearts and led people to quiet joy through music as profoundly as Bach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johann Sebastian Bach was a composer who expressed divine prayer and harmony through music.
One of his representative works, the Goldberg Variations<\/em>, is said to have been born from the wish of Count Keyserling, who sought soothing music for sleepless nights.
This piece, noted in the first edition as \u201ca joy of the soul,\u201d has long been known to bring deep comfort and happiness to both performers and listeners alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hoping that Bach\u2019s music can bring hearts together on the longest night of the year,
we will be sharing this performance as a live global broadcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sound of prayer becomes light, illuminating even the longest and darkest night.

Tomonaga AOYAMA<\/span><\/mark>

Graduated from Kyoto City University of Arts and completed its Master\u2019s program. Upon finishing graduate studies, he joined the Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra, where he served as First Violinist and later as Principal Second Violinist. He has performed Bach\u2019s violin concertos with the orchestra under the baton of Kazuyoshi Akiyama. After leaving the orchestra in 2016, he has focused primarily on solo and chamber music, including recital appearances by invitation at the H\u00f4tel M\u00e9dicis and the Conservatoire Municipal in Paris. He is currently a contract member of the Kyoto Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra. Deeply devoted to the music of J.S. Bach, he considers its exploration and performance his life\u2019s work.<\/mark><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sakura GOTOH<\/span><\/mark>

Born in Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
She graduated from Kyoto Horikawa Music High School and the Department of Strings at Kyoto City University of Arts. She studied violin under Shizuko Ishii, Kazuyo Kimura, Sonoko Numata, and Takashi Izumihara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Active in a wide range of musical genres, she performs as a guest member in orchestras, contributes to studio recordings, and collaborates with pop music artists, all while dedicating herself to teaching the next generation of musicians.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tomohiro YAMAUCHI<\/span><\/mark>

A native of Fukui Prefecture, he completed a Master\u2019s degree at the Graduate School of Music, Kyoto City University of Arts. He studied cello under Yui Arai, Tetsuyuki Uno, and Kaeko Mukoyama, and chamber music with Reiko Morita.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has performed in the Fukui Prefecture New Artists Concert, and received both the Grand Prize and the Mayor of Kobe Award at the 27th Kobe International Music Competition, as well as 3rd Prize in Age-G at the 25th Osaka International Music Competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, he is a contract member of the Kyoto Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra and is active in chamber music and orchestral performances throughout the Kansai region. He is a Ruby of Koshi Artist with the Fukui Prefectural Cultural Promotion Foundation, and teaches at the Fukui Junior Strings Ensemble Seminar and the Hibari Music School.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
